J.W. May Voted UPSL Goalkeeper of the Season Presented by KEEPER BALM®

UPSL Mid-Atlantic Division Goalkeeper Garnered 44-Percent of Final Fan Vote

August 23, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Savannah Clovers FC's J.W. May has been voted 2019 Spring UPSL Goalkeeper of the Season Presented by KEEPER BALM®.

May led final vote-getters with 44-percent of the vote (278 votes) in a poll that ran on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2019.

Savannah Clovers FC Goalkeeper J.W. May said, "I'm incredibly thankful of my supporters and fans for voting for me. This was a great season, and I love every minute I'm playing in a Savannah Clovers uniform. Thank you to the ownership of the club and to the coaches for the opportunity to continue playing this game, and I look forward coming back for the 2020 season."

May has started in all 15 games he has appeared in for Savannah Clovers FC dating back to the 2018 Spring Season. He played in eight games this season for Clovers FC, and allowed two or fewer goals in every game. He also scored a goal in a 2-2 draw against Lowcountry United FC on May 18, 2019.

Savannah Clovers FC recently completed its second season in the Southeast Conference Mid-Atlantic South Division.

The UPSL Goalkeeper of the Season Presented by KEEPER BALM® was selected by fans and supporters utilizing a 12-hour Twitter poll. 632 votes were recorded.

United Premier Soccer League

The UPSL was formed in 2011 and currently includes more than 300 teams in Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Wisconsin. UPSL is the fastest growing Pro Development League in the USA, with 500-plus teams targeted for 2020 Spring Season. Each UPSL team is individually owned and operated, and is responsible for maintaining either UPSL Pro Premier Division or Championship Division minimum standards.

UPSL teams are all eligible to participate in the U.S. Open Cup Qualifying Rounds through the leagues affiliation with the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
